FAQ
Everything You Should Know About the PMP Exam
The Project Management Professional (PMP) is the world's leading project management certification, recognized globally as the gold standard. Earning the PMP demonstrates that you possess the experience, education, and competency to lead and direct projects. The PMP exam itself is not a simple knowledge test; instead, it is designed to assess your ability to apply project management principles in real-world scenarios, testing for a mastery of the standards set by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
Prerequisites
The Project Management Institute (PMI) has several requirements for exam applicants.
There is an application process where you will need to provide proof that you have fulfilled these requirements.
Exam Fees
PMI members have a reduced exam fee of $405. For non-members, the fee is $555. Find more information about exam fees for the PMP here.
Exam Day
This exam includes 180 questions and has an allotted time of
230 minutes, with two optional 10-minute breaks. On the day of the exam, you
will need to bring a valid, government-issued form of identification. You will
also need to provide your unique PMI Eligibility ID. During the check-in
process, you will have your photo taken and you will need to provide a signature.
After the Exam
As soon as you complete your exam, you will receive a copy
of your test results, which will include a pass/fail status as well as
important diagnostic information.
